May 1 – 30, 2010 – “the future of painting”
For more information regarding this exhibit of recent paintings, click on the “future of painting” exhibit info, under Shows and Events in the sidebar at right. Those of you who live nearby are invited to attend the artist’s reception on May 22nd. Of course, stop by for the Hot Shops Open House, May 1 & 2 – always an exciting event! See you any & each of those days! A tight umbrella description of this show: it is a peek into the future through the art of the past fused with anxieties of the present and of recent experiences. Not all pretty, but not all downer, either. Another progress painting to be posted in the portfolio: Courbet’s The Sleepers. A detail of that painting shows here, taken from a prior stage of development. I would like to add that five of the works from this show were created or begun during a residency stay at Kimmel-Harding-Nelson in Nebraska City. Click on their link at right. It was an excellent experience. I met composers, a writer, documentarians, photographers… really sharp and creative people. We were all very busy being productive and were supported by the wonderful staff there. Thank You! Now – it’s a wild ride up to the last minute! Some of our students at BU hang their thesis show the same day! It’s interesting and exciting to feel the squeeze together. If you are in a crunch period, know that you are not alone. Keep pushing and take care of yourself. If you are breathing-in Spring in a leisurely way, smell the flowers for us, who on the run in the crazy world of our own making. Comments are closed. |
