May 1 – 30, 2010 – “the future of painting”

“What is the future of painting?”  I suggest that part of the answer is its past.

Another answer comes in the form of a group of paintings which stem from the image of a plein air painter at work atop the debris of our civilization.  The artistic spirit and need for expression is likely to make its way, regardless of the circumstances.

Please check out the works from this exhibit in the Gallery.

Five of the works from this show were created or begun during a residency stay at Kimmel-Harding-Nelson in Nebraska City.  It was an excellent experience.  You might want to apply.  I met composers, a writer, documentarians, photographers… really sharp and creative people.  We were all very busy being productive and were supported by the wonderful staff there.  Thank You!
